GHOSTWOMAN – Single “Levon”, album announcement and European tour
A gritty psych‑garage song paves the way for their fourth LP and autumn tour.

Canadian duo GHOSTWOMAN have dropped a new single, “Levon”, alongside news of their upcoming fourth studio album "Welcome to the Civilized World", due September 5, 2025, via Full Time Hobby and a full European tour this autumn.
“Levon” originally began as an abandoned demo, then resurrected by the band, adding fresh lyrics, guitar riffs and a searing solo. It’s named after band member Evan Uschenko's dog, themselves nicknamed for Levon Helm of The Band. The final version is a tight, punchy fusion of garage grit, smoky psychedelia and blues‑rock swagger, with Uschenko’s filtered vocals winding through electrifying guitar lines to create a menacing yet peppy vibe. The track is paired with a Ryan Faist‑directed video filmed in an eerie, abandoned trailer. Faist captured the song’s relentless rhythmic pulse with minimalist visuals: a simple pencil tapping becomes a hypnotic counterpart to the music, while two friends’ muted presence adds a documentary‑like stillness.
The album was written and recorded over two years, split between Canada and Belgium, in spaces ranging from Alberta homes to a secluded Ardennes cottage. GHOSTWOMAN’s intuitive, tape‑based production uses worn, second‑hand gear until it’s “used up”. Thematically, it’s a chaotic response to modern absurdity, existential pain, and personal loss, the duo calling it “an allergic reaction to the times we are living in”.
