Marc Amacher – new album "Load" hits #1 in Switzerland
A raw Swiss blues-rock record clinches a historic chart-topper
July 04, 2025
Bern-based blues-rocker Marc Amacher has struck gold with his third studio album, "Load". The record catapulted to #1 on the Swiss album charts, a first for his indie label Hoboville, earning top billing in the country. This milestone cements Amacher’s rise from The Voice of Germany finalist to Switzerland’s foremost blues-rock talent.
"Load" channels gritty Americana through a European lens—rootsy, unfiltered, yet undeniably contemporary. Critics praise its blend of blues, rock, soul and funk: Darkstars calls it “the perfect mix of Blues, Soul, Funk and Rock,” while Rock‑Garage highlights its “raw and gritty voice” and raw guitar energy. With twelve tracks spanning gritty shuffles, soul‑soaked grooves, hard rockers and even a reggae‑tinged surprise, Amacher shows both stylistic breadth and emotional depth.
Raised in the Bernese Oberland, the artist brings authenticity to every chord. His performance history includes support slots for legends like Eric Clapton, Billy Gibbons and The BossHoss. "Load" feels like a homecoming. It is a record where every note carries the weight of his lineage, shaped by his great-grandfather’s tales as a wandering hobo and the Bernese alpine soul he still embodies.
