Victory for Thomas Lemmer and Eric Horstmann at the German Songwriting Awards

The prestigious German Songwriting Award was presented in Berlin on March 7, 2025 - and it was a very special evening for ambient and electronic artist Thomas Lemmer. He was able to prevail against strong competition in the “Music for Motion Picture” category and won with his piece “Nocturnal Embrace”. The beautiful piano ballad with cello captivates with its emotional depth and cinematic atmosphere - perfect for a movie closing scene.

Thomas Lemmer has been an artist on the renowned Sine Music label from the Black Forest for many years. His titles are published by the in-house music publisher Finca Am Meer Publishing in cooperation with AMV Publishing and SMV Schacht Musikverlage in Hamburg. His music is characterized by a unique blend of ambient, chillout and electronic sounds, which inspires a large audience worldwide.

But that was not the only success on this evening: Eric Horstmann, also a producer from Sine Music with his project “Electrix”, with whom Lemmer has already collaborated several times for Dolby Atmos productions, was also honored. He won in the “Best Immersive Mix” category for a song in which Thomas Lemmer and Oine are directly involved. The track was co-written and produced by Thomas Lemmer, Eric Horstmann and Adrián Márquez Salas (Oine) - another sign of the creative power of this collaboration.
The German Songwriting Award (GSA) is one of the most important competitions for songwriters and composers in Germany. Every year, it offers both up-and-coming and established artists a stage to present their work to a top-class jury of experts from the music and film industry. The double award for the team around Thomas Lemmer shows that their music is produced at the highest level in terms of both content and technology.

As if winning the GSA wasn't reason enough to celebrate, Thomas Lemmer also celebrated the release of his new album “Dreamscapes” on the same day. The album was released by Sine Music and is not only available in high-resolution audio, but also in the immersive Dolby Atmos version. This special production technology makes it possible to experience music in a three-dimensional space - a unique listening experience that unfolds fully through both headphones and speakers.
Thomas Lemmer himself says of his new album: “Dreamscapes is a very personal album that was created at a time when I was searching for inner peace. Music became a retreat for me - a source of relaxation, reflection and almost a meditative experience.”

The combination of Lemmer's sound design and Horstmann's technical expertise takes the music to a new level of immersion. The album is also available in binaural Dolby Atmos on platforms such as Apple Music, Tidal and Amazon Music, so that headphone users in particular can enjoy the depth and breadth of the sound to the full.

Furthermore, Horstmann has won in the category „Best Dolby Atmos Mix“ for the track "Berlin" by Thomas Lemmer, Oine & Electrix.

Thus, with the release of “Dreamscapes” and winning the German Songwriting Award, Thomas Lemmer is once again setting new standards in the electronic music scene. He proves that emotional and profound compositions, innovative production techniques and an artistic approach can merge harmoniously - and in a quality that delights both listeners and critics.
