Inspired by Christian Olsson’s grandfather—a Hungarian refugee who escaped the 1956 revolution—the song carries the same fearless philosophy that defined his life: “All on RED.”
Olsson recalls vivid childhood memories of his grandparents in their Gothenburg kitchen, laughing over a miniature roulette table, cigarette smoke curling through the air. That spirit of risk and playfulness shaped his approach to music, where distortion and noise became his signature sound.
Musically, All On Red channels the energy of The Walkmen and Ride, balancing delicate melodies with primal urgency. Olsson enlisted Truls Mörck (Graveyard), Anton Tuvesson (Fägring), Andy D. Park (Death Cab for Cutie), and longtime collaborator Klas-Henrik Hörngren (Ane Brun) to help craft a track where everything feels chaotic yet perfectly in place.
