November 29, 2024
Singer-songwriter Johanna Amelie, celebrated for her heartfelt songs on romance, grief, and environmental issues, unveils her new EP, Horizon, on November 29th. Written during a three-week residency in Paris and produced in Berlin, the EP marks a milestone as her first release under Berlin-based label Listenrecords, home to talents like CATT, Charlotte Brandi, and Joy Bogat.
The EP features three tracks and a live performance:
“TIDE”: A powerful anthem on environmental destruction, featuring vivid imagery of rising waves and a poignant critique of humanity’s delay in addressing climate change. It also includes a live session recorded at the fritz kola studio in Wuppertal.
“Comme Si”: A dynamic bilingual cover of Christine & The Queens’ original, merging French and English to tell the story of a turbulent relationship tied together by music.
“GREECE”: A deeply personal and spiritual exploration of grief, inspired by a mystical Greek locale renowned for making the impossible seem possible.
Horizon marks a new chapter in Johanna Amelie’s career, blending deeply relevant themes with her signature touch in artistic expression.
On January 12th, Johanna Amelie will be playing together with listentoJules for you at Wohngemeinschaft in Cologne.
