The song was written during an artist residency in Paris, where Johanna spent three weeks working on new music — with her whole family by her side. Johanna Amelie writes music made for golden hour road trips and quiet nights. With her baby in her arms, she sings about climate grief, hope, and the fragile beauty of life. Her songs carry a clear feminist voice and blend elements of indie, folk, and pop.
Inspired by Regina Spektor, Johanna began writing songs as a teenager, later studied music production, and has since released her work on both German and British labels. She has played over 300 shows around the world — including Iceland, Ghana, France, and New Zealand — and has opened for artists like Nerina Pallot or Patrice
Along the way, she has collaborated with producers like Gordon Raphael and Andy Chatterly. Her releases include three albums and four EPs, marked by emotional clarity and rich, organic arrangements.
Johanna Amelie is also a dedicated feminist and community builder. As a board member of Music Women* Germany, she advocates for gender equity in the music industry and is deeply rooted in the indie scene as a musician, producer, and activist. She hosted panels on „parenthood in music“ in conferences like c/o Pop, Most wanted music and was a speaker at Pop Kultur Festival.
