A Christmas album by Gregory Porter was long overdue and with "Christmas Wish" the wait is now over. With Christmas classics such as "Silent Night" (reinterpretation by Troy Miller), it creates a festive atmosphere from the beginning, while Porter's own compositions such as the album's title track add a soulful shimmer to the holiday season. A duet with jazz vocal star and double Grammy-winner Samara Joy provides sparkling romance. All orchestral contributions for Christmas Wish were recorded at Abbey Road. Porters frequent collaborator multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and conductor Troy Miller took charge of the album's production.
