He has done it again! Heinz Rudolf Kunze - who says of himself that sometimes he would like to have more peace in his head instead of endless song ideas that want to be written down - releases a new album. And it's more personal than ever before. The limited edition fan box includes an exclusive documentary, featuring many of HRK's older hits. "Können Vor Lachen" entered at #4 in the German album charts.
"I always dedicate my songs to all people, but of course the album also has a lot of personal. That is mainly due to the current times," says Kunze. KÖNNEN VOR LACHEN is the back-and-forth movement of a turtle that every now and then pokes its head skeptically out of its shell and asks, "Is it still so bad? Yes, it's still this bad," and then retracts its head again. "That's when you sometimes prefer to disappear into the private sphere, where everything is fine."
In true Kunze fashion, even the title is not without wordplay. In KÖNNEN VOR LACHEN he processes the old virtue that was given to him early on as a teacher's son: First comes work, then comes pleasure. "The title came about quite unspectacularly on a car trip in Düsseldorf, when I drove past a poster with exactly this saying. It was like a revelation." With a great deal of linguistic skill and word acrobatics, HRK acts as a world changer on this album, moving confidently both outside and inside. Kunze no longer has to prove to anyone what status he has in German rock music and yet wants to try. With charm, wordplay, fighting spirit and: Ability!
