Max von Milland - new album "Eisack"
The Tyrolian Mundart artist presents his fifth studio album
February 03, 2023
"Eisack" was produced in its entirety at Buckethill Studios in the Sarntal Valley in South Tyrol by Kiko Masbaum and the novelty here is that it was recorded with his two fellow musicians, the multi-instrumentalist Simon Gamper and the keyboardist Teresa Staffler.
The title is the name of the river that flows through Max's hometown of Brixen. Max von Milland collaborated with Henning Wehland, as on the previous album, and another song was created with Ina Regen. The trio line-up, which has been the live line-up for over a year, shows itself sometimes quiet, sometimes loud, experimental and inspiring at the same time. The lyrics, still sung in South Tyrolean dialect, do not speak of crises but articulate themselves courageously uplifting against all crises of this world. The herald to the "Eisack" is the driving "Ciao, Servus, Griass di & Baba", a song that sums up the South Tyrolean attitude to life. However, this is not the picture book South Tyrol, but the South Tyrol that is behind the facades, away from the tourist whitewashing.
The essence of "Eisack" is that it is not overlong and thus forces its listeners to go through it again after the first time. An all in all important Max von Milland album!
