Roo Panes has announced his new album ‘The Summer Isles’ will arrive on March 24th 2023 via Leafy Outlook, and has shared his latest single. The new track "Suburban Pines" follows in the wake of recent singles ‘The Summer Isles (Sunrise)', ‘Letter To The Boy’ and ‘Arcadia’, possessing the very same dreamlike quality that has quickly become a key feature of Roo’s latest work.
Conversational and gentle, in this seventeen verse epic, Roo presents a ‘real life ordinary story’; an ode to the magic of everyday life in quiet surroundings, and a nostalgia trip through the memories attached to growing up in a small town. In its many verses, Panes takes us on a journey through his hometown from hazy childhood memories, a move back home after time spent living elsewhere in the world, and the timely moment he met his future wife later down the line despite living in the same place for most of their lives.
Since releasing his debut album ‘Little Giant’ to critical acclaim, the Dorset-based artist has gone from strength to strength as a songwriter and performer, quietly honing his craft while his music has gradually won over a constantly-evolving global fanbase, with in excess of 400 million plays on Spotify and over 33 million views on Youtube to date. A new phase of life and songwriting took shape through 2021 and has led to a collection of beautiful releases, culminating in the much anticipated, stunning ‘Nightjar and the Nightingale’ EP, released on April 1st 2022.
