Burger / Voigt

Techno duo Jörg Burger and Wolfgang Voigt, known as Burger/Voigt, have over two decades of music under their belt. Both, together and individually, they have made a signficant impact on the techno community.

Voigt refined a new sound of acid techno by matching its classic approach with German folk rhythms and sounds, making German techno unique compared to other countries at the time. Burger incorporates pop foundation in his approach to techno production. He developed a signature style including elements of Indiepop, Folk and Country. As praised by many, he built the foundation of upcoming Indietronic.

Both met while playing in their respective bands in the early '80s. Soon they collaborated regularly, combining their interest in indie pop while merging into acid techno and paving the way for upcoming and mainstream techno progression in Germany at the time.
