Frumpy was a German progressive krautrock band that emerged in the early 1970s. Formed in Hamburg in 1970, the band consisted of lead vocalist Inga Rumpf, keyboardist Jean-Jacques Kravetz, bassist Karl-Heinz Schott, and drummer Carsten Bohn.

Frumpy's music was characterized by a blend of rock, blues, and classical influences, with a particular emphasis on intricate compositions and performances.

Inga Rumpf's distinctive, soulful voice became a defining feature of the band, earning her a reputation as one of Germany's most compelling rock vocalists. Kravetz's skillful keyboard work, often featuring the Hammond organ, added a rich, orchestral texture to their music, while Schott and Bohn provided a solid, dynamic rhy

Despite their success, Frumpy disbanded in 1972. Rumpf and Kravetz went on to form the band Atlantis. Frumpy briefly reunited in the 1990s, releasing new material and performing live, much to the delight of their longtime fans.
