BRIAN ENO The Ship I Elbphilharmonie (Kaistudios) Sound installation & new album „Reflection“

As the first English artists Brian Eno is performing in the „Hamburg Elbphilharmonie“! In the course of the opening of the „Elbphilharmonie Plaza“ he designed a walk-in sound installation „The Ship“ at Kaistudio 1 where visitors can experience music as a product of time, space and movement. The sound installation is open to the public until December 4th, 2016.

Eno explained that for this project he wanted to adopt music that doesn’t follow the usual rhythmic and harmonic patterns but rather spreads out in space and time just like a landscape. The installation is accompanied by music from his album „The Ship“ which takes impulses from world history: the outbreak of the First World War, the sinking of the „Titanic“ but at the same time reveals Eno’s new abilities: his own singing voice.

Brian Eno has played a groundbreaking role in pop music of the past decades, as a former member of the band Roxy Music or as a song producer working with artists such as David Bowie, Depeche Mode or Coldplay.

On January 1st 2017 his next album „Reflection“ will be released on WARP. It will continue the experimentation with ambient music that „started (as far as record releases are concerned) with „Discreet Music“ in 1975“. The release will include a CD in case bound sleeve with 6 page booklet, 2LP Vinyl in printed inners, in printed outer sleeve with download card, as well as Digital / Streaming.

We are thrilled!
