DJ Shadow - New Album "Action Adventure"
Californian sampling expert and music producer DJ Shadow sampled "(Wir Sind Die) Schmetterband" on his 7th studio album.

DJ Shadow is a pioneer when it comes to sampling. His 1996 debut album "Entroducing....." marks a milestone in the hip-hop scene and was the first album produced with samples only. Ever since he established himself as an artist and producer. Among other projects he was leading in the production of the soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto V, which is the top-selling audiovisual entertainment product to date. The new album "Action Adventure" is an inward-looking project, made by DJ Shadow alone without any collaborators. He explains, "This album is about my relationship to music. My life as a collector and curator. All my records and tapes."
For one of the tracks, "Witches & Warlocks" DJ Shadow sampled the song "(Wir Sind Die) Schmetterband" by Austrian folk and polit rock band Schmetterlinge. The track originally released in 1975, was part of the LP "Lieder Fürs Leben". An alternative version was released on their 1977 LP "Beschwichtigungshow", which was intended as satirical criticism addressed to the record industry and included their input for Eurovision Song Contest "Boom Boom Boomerang".
